BARA: Two sisters died after falling into a gorge here on Monday, local sources said. The sources said the two daughters of one Niazmeen had gone to a hill to collect firewood when they fell into deep a ravine. Both the sisters suffered injuries in the fall. The Rescue 1122 officials rushed to the spot after learning about the incident. The injured were taken to Dogra Hospital where both of them succumbed to injuries. ....

HEALTHCARE workers and doctors’ associations in two major hospitals of KP are adamant that the KP Healthcare Services Providers and Facilities (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2020, be implemented. The doctors of Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar and Dogra Hospital in Khyber district have been on strike for the past few days to protest incidents of hooliganism at their institutions and demand legal action against the perpetrators, who allegedly include two MPAs from the PPP and BAP, under the above-mentioned law. A group of people led by the lawmakers threatened the doctors while violently protesting the death of a young boy from Khyber district at the Hayatabad Medical Complex on April 30. A a day later, a PTI MNA with a group of people reportedly barged into Dogra Hospital in Khyber district where he had a heated exchange with the medical superintendent whom he is said to have held hostage for a couple of hours. ....

BARA: The administration of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Dogra protested against Member National Assembly (MNA) Iqbal Afridi for using abusive language against the medical superintendent and other staff members.
The paramedics and doctors associations in Bara and Dogra Hospital said that MNA Iqbal Afridi visited the hospital along with dozens of PTI workers and insulted Dr Jehangir, in- charge of the hospital, and used abusive language against him.
They said a case should be registered against Iqbal Afridi for violating the corona SoPs and interfering in the affairs of the government. The MNA was angry that he was not invited to inaugurate the corona vaccination centre. ....

BARA: Five persons, including four women, were killed and 16 others injured when a passenger van plunged into a ravine in the boundary area between Khyber and Orakzai districts on Saturday, local and official sources said.
The couch was carrying passengers from Tirah to Bara and when it reached Chappari area, the driver lost control over the steering.
Soon after the incident, the locals and a Rescue 1122 team reached the place and retrieved the bodies and those injured.
The wounded people were shifted to Dogra Hospital in Bara while the bodies were handed over to the bereaved families. ....
