Toyota recall shuts down Canadian production January 28, 2010 by PLANT STAFF Photo: Toyota TORONTO: A sticking accelerator pedal on eight of its models has prompted Toyota Canada Inc. to shut down production at several plants and instruct its dealers to temporarily suspend sales. The recall affecting approximately 270,000 vehicles in Canada (and almost 3.4 million in the US) will also result in a halt to production for the week of Feb. 1 on seven North American production lines, including Toyota’s operations in Cambridge, Ont. and Woodstock where Corollas, the Matrix and RAV4 are made.
