WAILUKU – A man who spent about three months in jail after being arrested for violating travel quarantine rules was released Wednesday after he was fined $150.
The fine was imposed after Dillon Rogers, 36, pleaded no contest to a park violation.
“I don’t know about the laws in your neighborhood, Mister Rogers,” 2nd Circuit Judge Rhonda Loo said in sentencing Rogers. “But in my neighborhood, you follow the law.”
Rogers was arrested Dec. 7 when he arrived at Kahului Airport from the Mainland without an approved pre-travel negative COVID-19 test, said Deputy Prosecutor Carson Tani.
When Rogers was asked where he was staying, he didn’t have an address where he could quarantine for the required 10 days, Tani said.
