Brevard County Sheriff's major testified at former deputy Hafza murder trial

That’s what attorneys for former Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy Yousef Hafza hope to sow in the mind of one of the six jurors this week during the 37-year-old man’s second-degree murder trial for the Father’s Day shooting death of 25-year-old Clarence Howard during a road rage incident while Hafza was off-duty.
Perhaps reasonable doubt was planted when Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Major Alex Herrera testified, after being called for the defense Thursday, that deputies – whether on-duty of off – can use deadly force in response to a perceived deadly threat regardless of whether the other person is actually armed. ....

Cocoa Beach Air Show plane makes emergency water landing near Patrick

“He was sputtering down the beach and I was like, oh he doesn’t sound good and I just started filming, Schrader said.
“It looked like (the pilot) pulled up at the last moment and avoided any spectators, there were loads of people on the water, and then I saw him on top of the plane. It looked like he was OK, she said.
The pilot reportedly declined medical treatment after the incident, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue officials.
The TBM Avenger performing in the warbird parade had a mechanical issue and the pilot was able to bring the plane down close to the shore. Rescue personnel were immediately on scene and the pilot is OK, according to Cocoa Beach Air Show officials in a prepared statement. ....
