Pandemic and ARPA funds discussed at county officials meeting COVID-19 continues to affect young people
Last updated 5/21/2021 at 1pm Hill County Public Health Director and Health Officer Kim Berg said at a meeting of county officials Thursday COVID-19 continues to affect younger people in the community as cases steadily continue to crop up. Berg said a possibility exists that these latest case may be the result of a variant, not just because of the age group it affects but because there seems to have been a noticeable shift in symptoms. She said fewer and fewer people seem to be losing their sense of taste, but chest congestion and breathing difficulties appear to be more intense, and young people are being hospitalized because of it. ....
The Hill County Commission discussed grant receipt, resignations and new hires at its weekly business meeting Thursday. The commission passed a resolution to amend the budget for the Beaver Creek Dam to receive funds from a Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Renewable Resources Grant, which Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson said will allow for the last of the dam’s immediately needed improvements. “This could be the last project to bring Beaver Creek Dam up to specs,” he said. Hill County announces $1M in COVID expense funding
Last updated 1/22/2021 at 12:15pm Hill County Commissioner Diane McLean announced that the county has received over $1,000,000 in funding from the state to reimburse COVID-19 related expenses at this month’s country officials’ meeting. McLean said the process of applying for these funds was exceedingly tedious and has been worked on since September 2020, but the county has received $1,123,000 which is unencumbered by CARES Act restrictions. She said the commission discussed how to use the funds and determined that they should be put in a fund devoted specifically to addressing infrastructure needs in the Hill County C. ....
