Netball: Strathclyde wing attack Beth Dix on her first year in Scotland


IT’S hard to imagine tourist attractions playing a role too often in transfer negotiations but it worked for Beth Dix.
“One of the pulling points for moving to Scotland was so I could go to the Christmas market in Edinburgh as I always wanted to visit it,” laughs the 22 year-old.
“Covid ruined that for me last winter but hopefully later this year I’ll finally get to experience it.”
Not that Dix has much time or opportunity for city exploring now. It is netball that is currently consuming her having made the switch to Glasgow’s Strathclyde Sirens last autumn. ....

SEWARD, Neb (jimmiepride.com).– The University of Jamestown baseball team racked up 20 hits, including 10 for extra bases, in an 11-9 win over No. 22 Concordia (Neb.) in game two of Sunday afternoon’s GPAC doubleheader at Plum Creek Park.
Nine doubles, including three by Grant Okawa (SR/Mississauga, ON) and two by Taylor Cullen, along with Chase Hacker (SR/Millcreek, WA)’s home run, came off four Bulldog pitchers.
Lincoln Trujillo (SR/Cheyenne, WY)’s first inning single scored Blake Arritola (SO/Salem, OR) and Okawa for a 2-0 Jimmie lead. UJ went ahead 4-0 in the top of the second on an RBI double by Hacker and a single by Arritola. ....

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmiePride.com) – The fifth inning of Monday afternoon’s game at Jack Brown Stadium was one to remember for the University of Jamestown baseball team.
Seventeen Jimmie batters went to bat, with 13 of them scoring on 12 hits, two walks, and an error against three Concordia-Moorhead pitchers, resulting in an 18-13 win over the Cobbers.
UJ hit five home runs in the frame, including a solo home run by Luke Shekeryk (JR/Seattle, WA) to lead off the inning.
