CRETE, Neb. (jimmiepride.com)– The University of Jamestown baseball team fell victim to a two-run rally in the top of the sixth against Doane University, losing 3-1 in the championship game of the Doane bracket Saturday afternoon.
Jamestown finishes the season with a record of 30-23, reaching the 30-win mark for the 11th straight season, excluding the 2020 season which was shortened to 23 games.
The Tigers scored in the top of the first on a throwing error by the Jimmies, but UJ tied the game in the bottom of the third as they took advantage of a Doane error. Chase Hacker (SR/Millcreek, WA) walked to lead off the inning and stole second base. Brian Rice (JR/Vancouver, WA)’s sacrifice bunt moved Hacker to third, and Grant Okawa (SR/Mississauga, ON) hit a ball that was misplayed by the shortstop, allowing Hacker to cross the plate.

CRETE, NE. (jimmiepride.com) -The University of Jamestown baseball team advanced to the championship game of the Doane bracket in the GPAC postseason tournament, defeating Northwestern (Iowa) College 10-1 and Mount Marty (S.D.) University 9-5.
Jamestown, now 30-22 this season, will face Doane University Saturday at 10 a.m. The Jimmies will need to defeat the Tigers twice to advance to the GPAC championship game.
A bases-loaded walk to Tayler Cullen (JR/Santa Rosa, Calif.) and a two-run single by Mike Asahara (SO/Spanaway, Wash.) staked the Jimmies to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first against Northwestern in Friday’s opener.

JAMESTOWN, ND. (jimmiepride.com) – Brian Rice (JR/Vancouver, WA) went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs, including a go-ahead two-run home run as the University of Jamestown baseball team defeated Dickinson State (N.D.) University 8-4 Wednesday afternoon at Jack Brown Stadium.
With the score tied 4-4 in the bottom of the fourth, Chase Hacker (SR/Millcreek, WA) reached on a two-out walk. Rice then drove an 0-1 pitch from John Koronoka (0-2) over the right field fence to make it 6-4.
Dickinson State took a 1-0 lead on an RBI groundout by Robert Encinas that scored Kobe Krenz from third.
SEWARD, Neb (jimmiepride.com).– The University of Jamestown baseball team racked up 20 hits, including 10 for extra bases, in an 11-9 win over No. 22 Concordia (Neb.) in game two of Sunday afternoon’s GPAC doubleheader at Plum Creek Park.
Nine doubles, including three by Grant Okawa (SR/Mississauga, ON) and two by Taylor Cullen, along with Chase Hacker (SR/Millcreek, WA)’s home run, came off four Bulldog pitchers.
Lincoln Trujillo (SR/Cheyenne, WY)’s first inning single scored Blake Arritola (SO/Salem, OR) and Okawa for a 2-0 Jimmie lead. UJ went ahead 4-0 in the top of the second on an RBI double by Hacker and a single by Arritola.
