Sunday, July 25, 2021   View Larger + Freda Schafer Fine, 92, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021, at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville PA, succumbing to the effects of a stroke. Born in Millville MA, Freda was the youngest child of the late Robert and Lena (Kondy) Schafer and was raised on the Schafer Dairy Farm in Bellingham MA. She attended Dean Junior College prior to marrying Ernest H. Fink, with whom she shared 3 children. Freda was the heart of the home for her family. The children were all born in Framingham MA where the family lived for 20 years. During this time, she became a life member of Hadassah and supported her children’s interests by serving as a Cub and Girl Scout Leader, amongst other positions and roles that allowed her children to flourish.  The family relocated to York PA, in 1973, and then to the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area in 1977.  After moving to a condominium, Freda served for several years as Association President.  She also served for 2

Edmond J. Ciosek – Cumberland Edmond J. Ciosek, 77, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at home. Affectionately known as Ed, he was the only son of the late Edmond & Mary (Groch) Ciosek. Ed met the light of his life, his beautiful Laurie Jean Ciosek (McDevitt) and they were married for 38 years and together they created a beautiful family. Ed was adored by his two sons, Stephen and Phillip August, his daughter Arianna Servant, her husband, Tim Servant, of Attleboro Falls, Mass., and their children Edelman and Teverly. From an early age, Ed was a very dedicated student and became a lifelong learner. After attending St. Patrick School in Valley Falls, he went on to graduate from Cumberland High School in 1961. Ed then attended Dean Junior College (1963) and continued his education at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, graduating in 1966. The Martha s Vineyard Times Esther Ann Chase passed away quietly in her home, surrounded by family, on Feb. 8, 2021. She was 94.  The daughter of Hiram Arthur Schubert and Ruth (Johnson) Schubert, Ann was born in East Rockaway, N.Y., on Dec. 11, 1926. She spent her childhood years in Lynbrook on Long Island, where her father was school principal and her mother a French teacher. She and her older sister, Jane, grew up in a home surrounded by craftwork: Her father was a painter, silversmith, and woodcarver; her mother a maker of clothes, hooked rugs, and ornaments. Ann’s destiny as a professional craftsman was as passionately pursued as it was inevitable.
