The Dean Marketplace will be held Saturday, May 1 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Dean Hotel, 122 Fountain St., Providence, to showcase local eats, drinks and shops. Vendors include North, Bolt Coffee, Soulita Soap, Churros RI, MXR Cocktails and more.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Through the pandemic in this column, we’ve explored flavor and taste and the deprivation of it with no indoor dining. Now that the option is back, coming back to a dining room might feel like experiencing a restaurant for the very first time. And that brings us to that “love at first bite” experience in Staten Island eateries.
