Published July 14, 2021, 10:02 AM A three-year-old Filipino-Canadian girl was allegedly abducted and stabbed to death by her own father in Canada. Jemimah Bundalian was found stabbed inside a car on King Edward Street at Jefferson Avenue on July 7, according to a report from CTV News. The girl was brought to the hospital but later died from her stab wounds. The 28-year old estranged father, Frank Nausigimana, abducted his daughter from her mother at knifepoint, police reported. Nausigimana fled away with his daughter but was later arrested. He is now in police custody and has been charged for first-degree murder. On Monday, dozens gathered to mourn the death of Jemimah, with stuffed animals, flowers, and candles laid on the side of King Edward Street. ....

In a petition filed Feb. 12, Nausigimana applied for periods of care and control of Jemimah Bundalian and mutual decision-making authority with the girl’s mother, Jasmine Bundalian, whom he was convicted of assaulting in 2017 in a failed attempt to induce an abortion. Nausigimana also sought an order from the court barring Bundalian from travelling with Jemimah outside the province without his permission. ....
