Portsmouth NH Bartlett St. intersection set-up altered by cop

PORTSMOUTH A city police officer decided, without authorization, to temporarily change the newly realigned intersection at Cate and Bartlett streets, police acknowledged.
“A police officer did move some cones and barrels to see if the traffic flow was more smooth,” police Capt. Darrin Sargent said.
The cones and barrels at the recently redesigned intersection have been returned to their previous positions. Sargent declined to name the officer who made the alterations, saying the matter was being handled internally.
City Public Works Director Peter Rice acknowledged the actions were caught on video because traffic there is being recorded to see how the new realigned intersection is working. ....

Fentanyl is cause of hundreds of drug overdose deaths in New Hampshire

Fentanyl overwhelmingly remains the most deadly illicit drug in New Hampshire, causing more than 260 overdose deaths by itself or in combination with other drugs during 2020, according to the annual report issued by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Although the medical examiner’s office is waiting for toxicology reports before it can finalize its 2020 overdose numbers, it appears there were about 400 drug deaths last year.
The medical examiner’s office also reported that of the 46 overdose deaths involving methamphetamines, 33 also involved an opioid, and in 31 cases that opioid was fentanyl.
Likewise, the office reported 51 overdose deaths in 2020 associated with cocaine, 44 also involving an opioid with fentanyl being the opioid in 41 cases. ....

'WandaVision' Review: Marvel Studios Bows Down to Small-Screen Heroes

The Disney+ superhero series
WandaVision opens with something brand-new to TV shows based on Marvel Comics characters: the Marvel Studios fanfare and logo, complete with glimpses of Iron Man and other figures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was previously only attached to Marvel’s films. Earlier Marvel shows like
Agents of SHIELD,
Jessica Jones, and, Groot help us,
The Inhumans were produced by a separate division of the company. Now in part because most of those shows weren’t very good Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is in charge of every project, film and TV both. And it’s that fanfare, at least as much as the presence of Avengers alums Elizabeth Olsen (as Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch) and Paul Bettany (as synthetic man the Vision), that promises that ....

Dover NH's Paula Roberge needs kidney after double lung transplant

DOVER – After surviving a double lung transplant, a Dover woman now needs to find a donor for a kidney transplant.
Paula Roberge, praised by friends and family for always being positive, said her kidney was damaged from the medications she was prescribed following the lung transplants.
“I thought, after the double lung transplant, that I’d be home free,” said Roberge. “I asked about a new kidney, wouldn’t the anti-rejection medications I take affect a new kidney? Apparently, it is just my kidney that has the problem, so if I get a transplant, it should not happen again.”
Roberge, 71, did not bring her plight to the attention of news reporters. That was her best friend and neighbor, retired nurse practitioner Gail Dickson. ....
