Have You Seen Where the Grass Is Always Green in Dartmouth? Spring is so close we can almost feel it in our bones, but you don t have to wait for warmer temperatures and sunny skies to start seeing those bright and beautiful green patches of grass on the SouthCoast. If you ve ever been to the Dartmouth Towne Center just off Route 6, you may have noticed small patches of AstroTurf along the walkway in front of stores like OfficeMax, Barnes & Noble and LensCrafters. A pair of employees at Barnes & Noble said the AstroTurf has been there for a long time, although they didn t know the exact reason why. ....
The Coast Yesterdays chaos didn t end yesterday. The province is announcing one new COVID-19 case in the official update today, and it s deleting one of the cases announced Saturday because somebody typed the wrong thing. If only this latest Saturday mistake could be blamed on losing an hour of sleep because daylight savings time s return caused clocks to spring forward an hour, but that didn t happen until this morning. Update March 17: As of an hour ago, the previous organ owners took to our Instagram replies to tell us that the big beaut has found a new home. “No gimmicks here,” says Jonathan Brook, a photoless Facebook user, in the ad for a free pipe organ he posted on Facebook Marketplace Thursday. “Free means free.” For the record, Mr. Brook, we believe you: How could something this majestical have strings attached? (Hey Siri, do pipe organs actually have literal strings attached to or in them?) ....

A steady drop in cases in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has prompted Governor Charlie Baker to begin moving into Phase 4, the final step in his administration s re-opening plan. At the national level, the recently passed $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan will is expected to bring nearly $8 billion in public health and economic investment to the Commonwealth. We can finally see the other side of this pandemic, but in order for a community like New Bedford to get there, it needs significantly more investment in public health resources than what the state is currently allocating. ....
