The university’s Plas Coch campus welcomed acts to film performances for FOCUS Wales as part of the BBC coverage of the pan-Wales multi-platform Gŵyl 2021 virtual event. Steff Owens, Programme Leader – Sound Technology, recorded performances at the university’s TV studios, with everyone observing COVID 19 procedures. Hip hop artist Dani Rain, also the drummer with North Wales pop punk outfit Neck Deep, and Cardiff-born grime MC Benji Wild performed at PGW’s TV studio in the Centre for the Creative Industries. ....

OTHER Voices Cardigan has joined forces with three of Wales’ best-loved festivals to create Gŵyl 2021 - a free, online festival packed with unforgettable music and comedy, embracing diversity and dialogue. In November 2019, Theatr Mwldan hosted the very first Welsh edition of Other Voices festival which took place in Cardigan. And it will come as no surprise that this year’s edition of the festival will be of the digital variety as Other Voices Cardigan has teamed up with Festival of Voice, FOCUS Wales, and Aberystwyth Comedy Festival. Filmed or recorded over recent months in Wales and internationally within coronavirus guidelines, Gŵyl 2021 will be broadcast online on the BBC’s website at www.bbc.co.uk/gwyl2021 across the weekend of March 6-7. ....
