Political Leaders Warn Taliban against Push for Military Win Two influential political leaders at an event in Kabul on Friday warned of “severe consequences” against the Taliban if the group continues violence with the hope to win militarily. They warned they are preparing for confrontation, but they keep their hope that the country will not enter another bloody war after US and coalition forces leave. Salahuddin Rabbani, the leader of the main faction of Jamiat-e-Islami, said today’s generation of Afghanistan is more eager than their previous generation when it comes to defending the country and its values against hostilities. He said the people are ready to safeguard the country’s hard-won gains of the last two decades as their “red line.” ....
The following appears in the May issue of Orange: The Experience. Written first person by Aamir Simms. Dear Clemson, Thank you for the last four years of my life, dedicated to taking in a boy and allowing me to leave a man. The time has unfortunately come for me to say my farewell to the best university God's country has to offer. My four years at Clemson have been nothing short of exciting and full of opportunities. It seems like yesterday I was arriving on June 4, 2017, someone eager and nervous to leave a lasting impression on a University that has seen many great leaders and ambassadors come through the same doors and walk the same halls I now have. In my first year I was simply trying to find my niche and make an impact on a team full of experienced players who wanted to make the most of their last year. From my first basket against Western Carolina, I knew something special was brewing in Littlejohn. Clemson has supported me from my very first step on campus, and for that, I ....
Kameron Jones has been competing in track and field since he was nine years old and living in San Diego, California. A love for the sport and the feeling of running fast fueled Jones’ early years of participation, and while his passion has always been prevalent, his true talent remained somewhat hidden for a long time. Jones’ talent shined bright in the spotlight during the final of the men’s 800 meters at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championships in Raleigh, N.C., where Jones made history by setting a school record, meet record, facility record, and running the second-fastest time in the nation this season after crossing the line in 1:45.47. In breaking Paul Ereng’s 33-year-old meet record, Jones had solidified as one of the all-time greats in ACC middle distance running. Jones found his way to Clemson after spending four years racing the 400 meters at the University of Maryland while earning his degree in Government and Politics. As a quarter-mile specialist, Jones was able to ....
The following appears in the May issue of Orange: The Experience. Written first person by Destiny Thomas. Dear Clemson, I cannot believe that I am writing a reflection of my career. If someone would have told me that Clemson was going to change my life, I would not have believed it. I remember coming to Clemson for an official visit back in 2017 my parents and I drove since it was not too far away from my hometown in Georgia. I vividly remember waking up from a nap to see the giant orange paws in the streets. I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning. I was excited and ready to find out what was so special “in these hills.” I did not think that I would actually commit on a visit, but I did. Clemson made an impact on me instantly the environment, the culture, the people and the facilities. I knew from one weekend that Clemson was the place I wanted to be. In fact, Clemson was the place I needed to be. I always wanted to attend a school that would push me academically, and Cl ....
