In 2020, five more followed: Dublin, Harrisville, Rindge, Walpole and Westmoreland. This year, 16 New Hampshire communities are poised to enter into public-private partnerships to expand broadband access and modernize infrastructure – Charlestown, Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Goshen, Greenfield, Jaffrey, Langdon, Marlborough, Marlow, Peterborough, Roxbury, Salisbury, Sullivan, Temple, Troy, and Unity. In total, the projects amount to well over $40 million in investment. What do these communities have in common? They have agreed that public-private partnerships are an effective way to address their broadband needs. In each case, they’ve used a unique combination of municipal bonding combined with a monthly fee on subscribers to make payments on the bond. Six file for Spartanburg County Council District 6 seat Five of the hopefuls are Republicans, and one is Democrat. The seat became vacant last month when Nutt resigned to be sworn into his state legislative seat. Nutt, a Republican, was unopposed in his election to fill the seat of outgoing District 34 Republican state Rep. Mike Forrester. Filing for Nutt s seat on county council are Republicans Steve Wunder, Michael Dawson, Jessica Coker, Robert Briggs, and Karen Puckett. Lekesa Kesha Whitner was the lone Democrat to file, and thus will not be on the primary ballot. She will appear on the March 23 special election ballot, according to Spartanburg County Elections Director Henry Laye. ....
