Director of Schools Dr. Tammy Garrett and Shelbyville Central High School Principal Rebecca Tidwell are excited to announce the hiring of new head coaches for the Eaglette and Golden Eagle basketball programs.
The SCHS basketball program has a rich history of success and we are very excited to have two coaches that understand that history and are willing to embrace it, commented Garrett. We are looking forward to seeing the success Coach Kyle Turnham and Coach Kody Howard will bring to both of these outstanding programs.
Kyle Turnham will be taking over as the head coach for the Eaglette basketball program.

Lockdown lifted at 10 a.m.
Members of the DPD searched a wooded area in close proximity to both DMS and DPS early Monday morning after a report of a black male running with a long rifle in the area.

Early Monday morning at 8:27 the Dyersburg Police Department responded to a call from a local citizen stating they witnessed a black male running across Frank Maynard Blvd. with a long rifle.
The call resulted in both the Dyersburg Middle School as well as the Dyersburg Primary School being placed on lockdown while members of the DPD searched for the subject.

The Dyersburg City School System recently announced the phases for the upcoming week of March 1-5, 2021.
Dyersburg City Schools issued the following release:
In an effort to achieve both system goals of keeping students and staff members safe and continuity of learning, Dyersburg City Schools has announced the following Phase Plans for the school week of March 1-5, 2021.
Dyersburg Primary School, Dyersburg Intermediate School, and Dyersburg Middle School will remain in Phase 2 for the school week of March 1-5, 2021.
For the school week of March 1, Dyersburg High School will remain on the Modified Phase 2 schedule and have all students in the building. For high school students, this means both groups A and B will report each day to work toward our goal of continuity of learning.
