Jocelyn Anderson started a petition as a last-ditch effort to improve safety in what she says is a life or death situation in the small hinterland town. So far, Ms Anderson s petition has amassed 1198 signatures. A shared zone for pedestrians and cars travelling through the middle of a hinterland town has been floated as a potential solution to its current traffic problems. The suggestion comes as Palmwoods residents plead with the State Government to urgently upgrade several of the town s intersections and slow the flow of traffic before someone is killed . The areas residents regard in most need of improvements include: The intersection of Woombye Palmwoods and Chevallum roads and Jubilee Drive under the railway bridge; The Churchill Street and Palmwoods Montville Road intersection; and The Dunning Street and Palmwoods-Montville Road intersection As well as the speed drivers travel throughout the town. ....
