Shrewsbury Town 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report Tuesday, 4th May 2021 21:03 Town’s final away game of the season at Shrewsbury ended in their ninth 0-0 draw of the season. Clear-cut chances were rare at both ends with Troy Parrott forcing home keeper Harry Burgoyne into a couple of saves and the Irishman and Norwood both shot over for the Blues, while sub Dan Udoh looped a header onto the top of the Town cross-bar at the other. Parrott replaced Teddy Bishop, who dropped to the bench, in a side otherwise unchanged from Saturday’s 2-1 win at Swindon. Dai Cornell was again in goal with Kane Vincent-Young at right-back and Myles Kenlock at left-back with Stephen Ward again missing out. ....
SWINDON Town failed to make it consecutive victories once again after a rudderless display saw John Sheridan’s men lose 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury Town. In the first half of a particularly scrappy affair at the County Ground, a sensational volley from Harrison Chapman settled the game in the visitors’ favour and saw Swindon drop back into the League One relegation zone on goal difference. A rare win for Shrewsbury in Wiltshire was just the club’s second in 20 attempts – a run stretching back to 1961 – and first since 1995. Swindon made two changes to the side that beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 on Tuesday night. ....
AS: What effect has Steve Cotterill had since coming in and how is he doing, health-wise? LC: Quite simply, he has transformed fortunes on the pitch. Town were on a dreadful run of form with confidence at a real low, they could not see games out under Sam Ricketts - Swindon at home was a classic example. Cotterill quickly improved on organisation, brought a back-to-basics approach and fitness seemed to improve. Results came, and with that confidence and momentum. Unfortunately, the manager is still not well. He remains in hospital, where he has been for three weeks now. Though, this week’s update was encouraging and - touch wood - it sounds like he will be out soon. ....
DAN N’LUNDULU’S first goal for Saints set his side on their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup. Striker N’Lundulu, making his first senior start for the club, fired home early in the contest before a late James Ward-Prowse free-kick secured a 2-0 victory over League One outfit Shrewsbury Town at St Mary’s. Saints looked in control for the majority of the contest and safely progress into a tasty fourth-round home tie with holders Arsenal on Saturday. Ralph Hasenhuttl made wholesale changes to his side as he looks to keep his injury-ravaged squad as fit as possible ahead of a busy schedule. ....
Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report Saturday, 20th Jan 2018 17:15 Joe Garner netted an equaliser in the 82nd minute as Town and Bolton drew 1-1 at the Macron Stadium, the first Blues league game to end in that scoreline for 34 matches. Earlier, Gary Madine had given the home side the lead on 53. Cameron Carter-Vickers was handed his Blues debut having signed on loan from Tottenham yesterday. The 20-year-old was making a debut at Bolton for the second time this season having made his Sheffield United bow at the Macron Stadium earlier in the season when he scored his only senior goal up to now. ....
