The veteran Irishman, who is out of contract this summer, appears to have played his final game for the club with his total of league starts this season having reached 29 and we understand, as was the case with Alan Judge, a 30th would trigger Town’s year’s option on his deal. ....
Shrewsbury Town 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report Tuesday, 4th May 2021 21:03 Town’s final away game of the season at Shrewsbury ended in their ninth 0-0 draw of the season. A rare win for Shrewsbury in Wiltshire was just the club’s second in 20 attempts – a run stretching back to 1961 – and first since 1995. Swindon made two changes to the side that beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 on Tuesday night. ....
Sunderland 1-0 Shrewsbury Town Charlie Wyke was the main man in the penalty area again to help Sunderland end the wait for a win at the Stadium of Light in Sky Bet League One. The in-form striker headed in his 14th goal of the season in the 18th minute against Shrewsbury Town to lift the Black Cats up to seventh in the table. It was a welcomed three points for Sunderland after the midweek disappointment against Plymouth and secured a victory on Wearside for the first time since November 3. Sunderland will now head to Ipswich firmly back in the promotion picture courtesy of Wykeâs latest winner, even though Lee Johnsonâs side couldnât build on that lead during the 90 minutes. ....
DAN N’LUNDULU’S first goal for Saints set his side on their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup. Striker N’Lundulu, making his first senior start for the club, fired home early in the contest before a late James Ward-Prowse free-kick secured a 2-0 victory over League One outfit Shrewsbury Town at St Mary’s. Saints looked in control for the majority of the contest and safely progress into a tasty fourth-round home tie with holders Arsenal on Saturday. Ralph Hasenhuttl made wholesale changes to his side as he looks to keep his injury-ravaged squad as fit as possible ahead of a busy schedule. ....
