The Maggiore Group owns and operates Tomaso s Italian Restaurant (which has been in operation since 1977), Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher, The Sicilian Baker and The Italian Daughter. The Sicilian Butcher features over the top menu items like its newly released bruschetta tower. The Sicilian Butcher has a great cocktail program ran by renowned mixologist, Matt Allen, and the restaurant boasts a Guinness World Record for the world s largest Negroni. Located at 4801 East Cactus Road in the former Salty Sow building near Paradise Valley Mall, The Mexicano will be a Mexico City-inspired eatery opening in late summer 2021. Menu items include Mexican restaurant staples (guacamole, ceviche) served in unexpected vessels (the ceviche comes inside a coconut, the guacamole in a scraped-out pineapple skin). Another menu item of note: the Machetes, 4-foot-long corn masa quesadillas served with your choice of Chicken Tinga, Chipotle Agave Shrimp, Braised Short Rib, and more, a nod to the 5-foot charcuterie boards found at The Sicilian Butcher. “The Italian Daughter is a restaurant concept that I believe my father would have been really excited to see,” Maggiore Meyer says in a press release of her late father, who died in January. “I want people to experience the joys of our authentic Italian cuisine in an atmosphere full of music and energy.” On the menu: handmade pastas, charcuterie boards, Neapolitan pizzas, and desserts all lateral to the menu items at sibling restaurants Tomaso’s (literally; her brother Joey Maggiore is executive chef), The Sicilian Butcher, and The Sicilian Baker.
