Workshop on Dhamail and Bihu dances concludes in Hailakandi A workshop on Dhamail and Bihu dances organized by the Culture Centre, Hailakandi under the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam. | 28 Feb 2021 6:48 AM GMT HAILAKANDI: A workshop on Dhamail and Bihu dances organized by the Culture Centre, Hailakandi under the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam, in collaboration with the district administration and Bandana Sangeet Mahavidalaya, came to an end at Blue Flowers English Medium High School here on Saturday, stated a press release. The seven-day workshop began on February 21. Many budding artistes from various parts of the district learnt the finer nuances of Dhamail and Bihu dances. Certificates were given away to those who successfully completed the training programme. ....

In the six constituencies of Barpeta, Sarbhog, Jania, Baghbar, Sarukshetry and Chenga there are all total 11,41,384 voters. Among them, 5,87,680 are male and 5,53,678 are female voters. There are 16,762 D-voters and 1,596 polling stations in the entire district. Total 10 are women polling stations,12 model polling stations, 124 are char area polling stations and 61 polling stations are for web casting. ....

According to CCTV footage, Dipanjali Kakati physically assaulted a police officer on duty inside Kakopathar Police Station after the police officer refused to set free a culprit who was brought to the police station for questioning. Further, the BJP leader has been booked under Section 332 of the IPC, a non-bailable offence. ....
