Hemorrhage from major trauma is the leading cause of death on the battlefield and survival depends on prompt surgical interventions. A military research team at Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) is looking at novel ways to treat blood loss using a cardiac agent shown to improve patient survival in some models.
