Lake man Ben Haxell faces jail for drug dealing, while imprisonment remains in the balance for his mother, Joanne Haxell, for her part.
A LAKE man faces immediate imprisonment for commercial scale drug dealing, while his mother s liberty hangs in the balance for her part in helping him in his drugs operation.
Benjamin Anthony Haxell and Joanne Haxell, both of Lake Green Road, jointly faced charges of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, between September 27, 2019, and January 31 last year.
Mr Haxell, 20, also pleaded guilty to separate counts of being concerned in the supply of ecstasy, heroin, LSD and ketamine, between September 19, 2019, and January 31 last year, together with counts of converting criminal property, by depositing cash into his bank account and purchasing crypto currency (Bitcoin), fraudulent evasion under Customs and Excise legislation, and possession of an ....

Newport drug runner jailed following police raid | Isle of Wight County Press


Tyler Cottingham, of Lavender Way, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court last Thursday.
At a previous hearing on March 11, he admitted possession with intent to supply MDMA, cocaine, ketamine and cannabis.
The 20-year-old also admitted possession of criminal property – namely cash to the value of £1,640.
His case was adjourned for sentencing.
Prosecutor, Gemma White, told the court police had attended Cottingham’s home address on August 19, 2019, to execute a drug warrant.
She said Cottingham was not present at the scene, but following a thorough search, various quantities of drugs were seized.
The items were predominantly found in a secure safe in the garden shed, which also contained a dealers list in relation to money owed. ....

Ryde man had child abuse and bestiality images on computer | Isle of Wight County Press


John Salim Nazir Aridi, of Victoria Street, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Thursday.
At a previous hearing on March 3, the 38-year-old admitted possession of 70 prohibited images of a child, three counts of making indecent images of a child, and one count of possession of three extreme pornographic images.
Prosecutor, Mary Aspinall-Miles, told the court the 70 prohibited images found were a combination of Hentai style images depicting sexual activity. She said they did not involve real children but resembled them.
There were also six Category A images – the worst kind – ten Category B, and 214 Category C.
The three extreme images related to movies involving bestiality. ....

Rapist throws urine and excrement over prison governor | Isle of Wight County Press


A RAPIST serving a 15-year sentence at HMP Isle of Wight, threw urine and excrement over the prison governor and an administrative officer, a judge was told.
Faid Ahmed, serving a sentence for rape, robbery and possessing an offensive weapon, was attending a prisoner behaviour review conducted by Ben Cooper, the governor, Christine Groves, and three other officers in the segregation unit when he launched his vile attack on August 27 last year.
Ahmed was escorted into the room and, without warning, reached into his jogging bottoms, pulled out a jar and threw the contents over Mr Cooper and Ms Groves, said Jonathan Underhill, prosecuting, at the Isle of Wight Crown Court. ....
