Recall that the governor earlier alleged that some of his appointees were moles sabotaging his administration.
He also reshuffled his cabinet and appointed new Commissioners for Finance and Health.
However, the Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Nwachuku Oguwike, said he wishes the affected appointees well in their future endeavours.
He also listed the eight commissioners not affected by the announcement to include; the ministries of Health, Youth and Sports, Tourism, Information and Strategy, Woman Affairs, Works, Finance and Technology.
“The Governor has relieved 20 commissioners of his caofet off their duties leaving only eight persons behind. ....

Eid-el-Fitr: Governor Badaru pardons 17 inmates in Jigawa

Governor Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa has pardoned 17 inmates of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) in the state.
Hajiya Zainab Baba-Santali, the Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Justice, disclosed this in a statement issued in Dutse on Wednesday, NAN reports.
Baba-Santali said the gesture was to decongest the correctional facilities in the state, especially during this period of Ramadan fasting and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, has granted pardon to 17 convicted persons based on the recommendation of the State Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy under the leadership of Dr Aisha Warshu Haruna. ....

Fire razes community, destroys farm produce, valuables in Yobe

Fire outbreak by a yet to be identified factor has razed a significant part of Bukku community in Karasuwa local government area of Yobe State.
The fire incident occurred on Friday evening and was said to have consumed farm produce stored in most of the affected households as well as other valuables.
Reacting to the incident, Governor Mai Mala Buni, commiserated with the people of Bukku over the incident.
The governor in a statement on Saturday signed by his Director-General Press and Media Mamman Mohammed described the fire as unfortunate.
He prayed Allah (SWT) to grant the victims the fortitude to bear the huge losses. ....

Jigawa court sentences man to life imprisonment for raping teenager

A State High Court sitting in Dutse, Jigawa State has sentenced a 27-year-man, Suleiman Ahmed, to life imprisonment, after convicting him of rape.
The court also sentenced another person it found guilty of the same crime to 21 years in jail as it equally discharged and acquitted another suspect.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Dutse by the Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Zainab Baba Santali said, Ahmed, of Lutai village in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of the state, committed the crime on March 15 last year in Babaldu town. ....
