May 4, 2021
Snapshot from the Sonoma County Sheriff s Facebook Page.
A 53-year-old Forestville man has been arrested after leading deputies on a high speed pursuit that ended in Graton. On Saturday night, a motorcyclist, later identified as James Ralston, lead deputies on a high speed chase from West Santa Rosa to Graton. The chase went to such high speeds that deputies called off the pursuit at one point allowing the sheriff’s Henry-1 helicopter to continue surveillance. Ralston was eventually detained on the 8000 block of Jeanette Avenue in Graton, arrested on multiple charges including outstanding warrants, violation of probation, possession of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia, as well as evading arrest. As of Monday morning, Ralston was in Sonoma County Jail on $20,000 bail. Fortunately, no accidents or injuries occurred. ....

The John R Emery at Erie, Pennsylvania, August 2001. In 1957/1958, the Emery s steam engine was replaced with two diesel engines and the forward wheelhouse removed. Although these modifications substantially changed the Emery s profile, the bow of the Emery in this photo, is the same bow, painted green (just as in Alan Mann s memories), that battled the Central Bridge during the Sydenham River Crisis of November 1944. Killeen council pulls agenda items; meeting cut short

Tuesday’s Killeen Council meeting, which should have had a relatively full agenda, in fact lasted only 20 minutes, with over a third of originally scheduled items pulled from discussion.
As the 5 p.m. meeting got underway, Mayor Pro Tem Shirley Fleming made a motion to pull all discussion items — nine in total — plus the public hearing from the agenda.
The council unanimously agreed to Fleming’s motion.
This left only the consent agenda items, which were then approved unanimously. A request for a future agenda item, regarding the mayor usurping his authority, was also not discussed.
Mayor Jose Segarra said the items were pulled because 72 hours notice is required between when an item is discussed and when it was voted on. ....
