Rossland speed trap shows reliable residents following the rules

Police conducted a quiet speed trap in a Rossland school zone Thursday, and were gratified at the level of compliance shown by local motorists, according to Trail RCMP top cop Sgt. Mike Wicentowich,
On March 12, 2021, Cpl. Splinter conducted school zone speed enforcement in Rossland near the Rossland Summit School. Trail RCMP Cpl. James Splinter used a handheld laser to measure the speed of vehicles travelling through the school zone.
We were very pleased to see that Cpl. Splinter found most vehicles were complying with the 30 km/hr posted speed limit, said  Wicentowich. The Trail and Greater District RCMP would like to thank BC RCMP Traffic Services and West Kootenay Traffic Services for supplying the handheld laser device to help front line Trail RCMP officers better combat speeding ....

Woman who conspired to kill husband seeks release from Michigan prison


A Michigan woman who says she conspired to have her husband killed to protect herself and her 7-year-old daughter from abuse is asking for clemency, her only chance at freedom from a life sentence in prison. 
LuAnne Szenay says she endured violence at the hands of her husband for 12 years. In 1990, she hired two men to kill Timothy Szenay, believing that his death would be her only way out after police repeatedly dismissed her complaints of domestic abuse. 
She now recognizes her thinking was “terrible” and “wrongful,” according to a commutation application that her daughter filed on her behalf earlier this month. ....
