Koopman speaks out against anti-vaccination warnings | News, Sports, Jobs

Koopman speaks out against anti-vaccination warnings By PAULETTE LeBLANC - | Jul 7, 2021 Dr. James Koopman Due to many in the scientific and medical communities who have spoken against both the short and long-term safety of receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, Pine Islander Dr. James Koopman addressed the issues of supposed Antibody Dependency Enhancement (ADE) and spike proteins’ permeation of the entire body. “In our community, there are these scientific issues causing people to be hesitant about the vaccine,” Koopman said. ADE is the thought that the vaccine could produce antibodies that help the virus get into our cells. This travel throughout the body, he said, and is very characteristic of coronavirus infections. The infection attaches to a receptor found everywhere in the body, allowing it to get into various places, such as the heart muscle. The concern is that the vaccine could be doing the same thing as the infection.

Vaccination hesitancy talks continue at Pine Island COVID-19 Task Force meeting By PAULETTE LeBLANC - | May 26, 2021 Discussions regarding vaccine hesitancy continued at last week’s May 17, meeting of the Pine Island Task Force. Dr. Daniel Hanley reported having “an embarrassment of riches” when it comes to the various COVID-19 vaccines on hand in his clinic. “There’s a lot of hesitancy. We have a time crunch, because Moderna is frozen so they don’t expire until October, but the Johnson & Johnson shots are refrigerated only. They cannot be frozen,” said Hanley, likening the J&J vaccine to milk, which expires if you don’t use it.
