Controversial claims that Santos is set to âdouble countâ emissions reductions that would be made through its proposed carbon capture and storage venture in South Australia have clouded the prospects for the project which is targeted for a final go-ahead in late September.
The Moomba carbon capture and storage project, expected to cost up to $US155 million ($205.3 million), is one of the key contributors for Santos to reach its target of net zero emissions by 2040, outlined to investors last December.
Santos will develop its CCS project in the Moomba gas fields in South Australia.Â
