Bangkok, Jan 12 : Ace shuttlers Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap, and HS Prannoy, who were forced to withdraw from the Thailand Open Super 1000 after they tested Covid positive earlier on Tuesday, were dramatically cleared by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to compete by the end of the day. ....

BWF can confirm four players tested positive for COVID-19 in Bangkok, Thailand today after the third round of mandatory testing was conducted on Monday 11 January, 2021.
BWF was informed this morning hours before the start of the YONEX Thailand Open – the first tournament of the Asian Leg of HSBC BWF World Tour.
The four players included two from India, one from Germany, and one from Egypt.
Upon retesting the same specimens, one player from India, and both players from Germany and Egypt were found to be negative.
These three players will be retested today. ....

Indian badminton stars Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap and HS Prannoy have been cleared to compete at the Thailand Open, the Badminton World Federation announced on Tuesday.
Nehwal was initially forced to withdraw from her first-round match on Tuesday after she returned a positive test for coronavirus. Kashyap, who had tested negative for the virus, also had to pull out as he was sharing a room with Nehwal, to whom he is married. Bangkok, Jan 12 : In a dramatic chain of events on Tuesday, ace Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap, and HS Prannoy were cleared to compete in the Thailand Open Super 1000 badminton tournament, just hours after they were forced to withdraw having tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced later on Tuesday that Saina and Prannoy could compete, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) said that Kashyap s participation will depend on result of his test , conducted on Tuesday afternoon. ....

Bangkok: Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy were cleared to compete in the Thailand Open after they tested negative for COVID-19, invalidating their previous positive results that forced them out of the tournament hours earlier on a chaotic Tuesday.
Both the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton Association of India (BAI) confirmed the development.
Both Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy have been cleared to participate in the ongoing Yonex Thailand Open after the fourth-round tests reports confirmed that both shuttlers have been tested negative for COVID-19, BAI said in a statement. ....
