As the COVID-19 pandemic drags into a second year, colleges and universities have weighed the risks of in-person graduation ceremonies against the disappointment of college seniors who want their hard work celebrated. Many Florida colleges and universities have decided to go ahead with plans for in-person graduations and designed ceremonies allowing for increased sanitation and social distancing. Others, including the Florida Institute of Technology, will forgo the traditional celebrations for digital alternatives. Updated graduation plans for Eastern Florida State College were presented at a Monday board of trustees meeting. Sunday, January 17, 2021 Our beloved Eluterio Garcia Jr., age 83, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Eluterio was preceded in death by his parents: Eluterio Sr. & Adela Garcia; sister: Janie Euresti; and brother, Elojio Garcia. Eluterio was a grandpa of many names, there was a grandpa, grandpa Telo, grandpa Eluterio, and grandpa Cats. When he walked into a room you would definitely know he never knew a stranger and always made things better when you had doubt or were feeling down. If you had a chance to speak with him he would tell you stories of his time while enlisted in the United States Air Force (he was very proud of that) and if you had a chance to see him play as a mariachi; you would hear the most beautiful songs. His voice would carry throughout any room in a building. You just knew when he was around the room was brighter and his laugh and carrying on with whoever he could talk to.
