Six Days in Fallujah publisher Victura has issued a new statement on its upcoming controversial shooter set during the US-led invasion of Iraq.
The statement, issued via the company s Twitter this afternoon, repeatedly states that the events recreated in Six Days in Fallujah are inseparable from politics , in contrast to widely-criticised remarks suggesting the opposite made last month by Victura boss Peter Tamte during an interview with GamesIndustry.biz.
Players need that context to understand why they re in the city fighting those Al-Qaeda people, Tamte said previously. Nearly a month after distancing itself from political statements, the publisher of the controversial military shooter
Six Days in Fallujah has backtracked and now says the events in the game are “inseparable from politics.” The game, which takes place during the Iraq War’s Second Battle of Fallujah, has come under scrutiny for seemingly portraying a US-centric focus on a campaign in which an estimated 800 Iraqi civilians were killed, according to the Red Cross.
“We understand the events recreated in

Six Days in Fallujah, a cancelled Iraq War first-person shooter (FPS), has been resurrected for a planned 2021 release.
Original announced by Konami and developer Atomic Games back in 2009, the project will now be developed by Highwire Games and published by Victura, a company established by Atomic Games’ former CEO, Peter Tamte.
Halo developers including Creative Director Jaime Griesemer and Audio Director Marty O’Donnell says it has interviewed over 100 marines, soldiers and Iraqi civilians for the revitalised project. Set to simulate six days of conflict in Fallujah, based on a real battle that pitted US Marines against Al Qaeda, the title hopes to offer up “unique technologies and game mechanics” as compared to other military FPS titles. ....
