Shares United Kingdom-based Bradley Nook Farm recently launched its first plant-based oat beverage after owners Jay and Katja Wilde transitioned the farm from a conventional beef operation to a sustainable organic vegan farm. The Wildes worked with startup organization Refarm’d to pivot their family business after they could no longer bear taking their cows to slaughter. “At some point, I couldn’t stop seeing the animals as individuals,” Jay Wilde said. “I just couldn’t send them to their death at the slaughterhouse any longer.” Transition to plants With the help of The Vegan Society and the Manchester-based Vegan Organic Network, the Wildes transferred a large part of their animal herd to Hillside Animal Sanctuary and started the process of transitioning to planting crops.
