I recently reviewed food from the Triton Taste, the food truck that is an integral part of the culinary program at our local Edmonds College. I had a chance to have an email conversation and have a few quick chats while waiting for food with Chef Instructor Stacey Schwartz. She’s in place each week supporting the team of students who are cooking and preparing food for hungry customers that visit the truck every Thursday at the Dayton and 4th location in downtown Edmonds.

In a recent letter addressed to the Edmonds City Council, Edmonds restaurant owner Shubert Ho expressed his appreciation for the city government support that has enabled Edmonds businesses to continue and thrive in our community.
“I’m writing to thank you all (councilmembers) for passing the Streateries Ordinance, which has ensured the vitality of our restaurant and retail industry in Edmonds,” Ho said.
His letter went on to praise the “diligence and speed of drafting this code by the City Development Department,” and the impact this made on ensuring restaurants can continue to do business. “You all heard our cry for help,” said Ho, who along with partner Andrew Leckie operates six restaurants through their Feed Me Hospitality and Restaurant Group. ....

Kyle police make arrest in 2015 double murder

Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett announced the arrest of a Louisiana man in connection to a 2015 double murder on Wednesday.
Larry Simon, 47, was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder for the 2015 murders of James “Jim” Wright, 45, of Kyle, and Tina Combs, 44, of Arlington.
“Preserving the integrity of this case and the subsequent prosecution has been a top priority for our department throughout the entirety of the investigation, Barnett said in a statement. “Detectives have spent thousands of hours diligently following leads and gathering evidence to find who was responsible for this and see that justice was given to the victims and their families. In addition to the police that worked this case tirelessly, I would like to also offer our sincere gratitude to the Texas Rangers who assisted in the investigation of this case.” ....

KYLE, Texas The Kyle Police Department on Wednesday announced they have made an arrest in a murder investigation that is more than five years old.
Larry Simon, 47, of Louisiana has been charged with two counts of capital murder. As of Wednesday, he remains in the Hays County Jail without bond.
James “Jim” Wright Jr., 45, of Kyle and Tina Combs, 44, of Arlington were found dead in Wright s home on June 25, 2015, at 810 S. Sledge St. ....
