No injuries were reported and residents in the area are no longer asked to shelter in place. The incident happened on the 100 block of Brazos Lane, the City of Kyle said. In a press conference Wednesday evening, Kyle police said the incident, which is believed to have been a hoax, occurred in the Silverado community. Chief of Police Chief Jeff Barnett said the call came in shortly after 4 p.m. Officers were told an individual inside a home was harming people and making threats to responding law enforcement and the nearby community. ....
Kyle city officials say multiple homes were evacuated from their homes Wednesday after what authorities a now believe was a false call about an active shooter. Authorities shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday received a 911 call reporting that a person was hurting people inside a home at the 100 block of Brazos Lane in Kyle, a city in Hays County that is southwest of Austin, according to police. Police said the caller told authorities that the assailant was also making threats to law enforcement. Kyle city officials issued a shelter-in-place to residents in the area, and police evacuated homes that were in the immediate vicinity of the home that authorities were called to.
