Consultant briefs RDA on regional development plan

Rawalpindi:Consultant Mott MacDonald called on Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority Maqbool Ahmad Dhawla to brief about consultancy services for the project titled ‘Preparation of Regional Development Plan and Peri-Urban Structure Plans’ for district Rawalpindi (excluding Tehsil Rawalpindi).
The meeting held at conference room of RDA which was chaired by DG RDA. On the occasion, it was informed that concrete steps would be taken to carry out necessary field surveys and data collection process related to the project.
RDA DG said active cooperation is required from all the stakeholders/departments to provide data & feed back to the consultants for the project. RDA officers Director Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Shahzad Haider, Deputy Director Engineering Azizullah, Dy Director Finance Junaid Taj Bhatti and others attended the meeting. RDA serves public amid COVID-19

Rawalpindi : In line with the Prime Minister’s policy of Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) under the direction of Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, has accelerated its efforts to simultaneously serve the public amid Covid-19, along with facilitation of the construction sector.
The Authority has initiated its fast track application approval rate during the entire process.
This all happened after the introduction of the EoDB reforms as well as after setting up the e-khidmat Centre in July last year at e-Khidmat Markaz, Rawalpindi, Deputy Director Finance RDA Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti told during a briefing at RDA office here Friday. ....

Rainwater harvesting project takes off
Mosque adopts system for ablution and watering plants
RAWALPINDI:
The rainwater harvesting project got its first breakthrough on Friday as a local mosque acquired the system to save rain water for ablution and then channelling the used water for irrigation in parks.
The project will help utilise millions of gallons of water the heavens drop on the garrison city instead of letting it drain into Nullah Leh and other drains. Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza inaugurated the rainwater harvesting system at Masjid Sarajia Asghar Mall Scheme.
“RDA is the second city institution of Punjab to adopt rainwater harvesting system for ablution,” he said. RDA has started this work at Masjid Sarajia with the help of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Murtaza said that water is very much needed in mosques and it is being extended to meet it and it is a big model. ....
