MG Motor India can launch a new electric vehicle with a price tag below Rs 20 lakh mark in the country over the next two years, according to a top company official.

During the month, the automaker clocked the highest-ever production, bookings, and sales figures as it received a robust response for all its product lines including ZS EV, Hector, and Gloster, MG Motor said in a statement. The growth momentum is expected to continue in March, and we are working at the back-end to try and reduce the waiting period for our customers, MG Motor India Director- Sales Rakesh Sidana said.
MG Motor India on Monday said it recorded its best-ever retail sales in February at 4,329 units. The company s sales rose over three-fold last month to 4,329 units, as compared to 1,376 units in the same month a year ago.

Ever since man started manipulating energy for motion, the idea of the perpetual motion machine has seduced many scientists and inventors. The viral video making rounds on social media that has a windmill-like structure on top of a poor Nexon EV is probably the creation of one such ambitious inventor. While it has a valid theoretical concept (wind energy), is the idea really sound? Or beneficial?
Charging the batteries of a car by using the very motion of it is not new. It is used in most modern cars to generate electricity when braking. But that only kicks in while the vehicle is in retardation. Coming back to the windmill, the creator here undoubtedly wanted to tap into something more potent. Charge your car by driving your car! Sounds too good to be true, doesn t it?
The carmaker is also in talks with various potential partners to manufacture the EV battery in India, with an eye on launching an additional EV sport utility vehicle at a lower price point using the localized battery.
