Lori Parrish hired as next executive director of Samaritan Counseling Center Lori Parrish Updated 4/8/2021 6:18 PM Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs recently announced the hiring of Lori Parrish of Crystal Lake as the next executive director for the nonprofit agency. Parrish follows the Rev. Jeanne Hanson, who will be retiring after serving as executive director for the past 10 years and a founding board member since 2007.   Parrish is well known throughout McHenry County as a county board member, commissioner for Crystal Lake Police and Fire, member of the Crystal Lake and McHenry Area chambers of commerce, and an alumna of Leadership Greater McHenry County.

Cohasset Elder Affairs announces programs Community Content Cohasset Elder Affairs, 91 Sohier St., announced its upcoming programs. The following programs/events will be held virtually via the Zoom platform unless otherwise noted. Register and pay online at myactivecenter.com or call 781-383-9112.  Virtual Exercise Classes (via Zoom): Gentle yoga, 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays; chair yoga, 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays; gentle yoga/fusion, 9 a.m. Thursdays; and pilates, 9:30 a.m. Fridays. It was not all good news, however, as Health Sciences North was reporting 10 patients who have been admitted with COVID-19, the highest number in quite some time. Of those 10, two people are in the intensive care unit. Thirteen people including two in the ICU are awaiting test results.
