A creek that runs behind homes on Pleasant Valley Road overflows with rainwater and sewage after storms, seeping into the homes of residents nearby.

PARMA, Ohio For some neighbors in Parma, whenever it rains, it floods, leaving mucky water nowhere to go but inside their homes.
Small creeks are all over Northeast Ohio. They re pretty but can be problematic when storms strike, especially for neighbors on Pleasant Valley Road.
Jean McDonald has spent the last 35 years making a home on Pleasant Valley Road, spending nearly $60,000 investing on her basement that can t keep water from coming in. ....

• Black Greek Poets, 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11. An international poetry network of college-educated creatives with a focus on members of historically Black Greek fraternities and sororities within the National Pan-Hellenic Council, will use their platform as a means to bridge poetry and the power of community engagement through fostering a safe space where artistic pursuit can be nourished and positively developed. Join Rashid White, Jeffrey Big Homey Banks and Andrew Drew Drake as they share their spoken word poetry and provide an open mic for others to share their artistic expressions and receive feedback from the Black Greek Po ....

October 2, 1927-December 21, 2020
Kathleen was born in Duluth, Minnesota. She was raised in Hibbing, Minnesota from the age of three and made many lifelong friends there.
   The family moved to Los Angeles where Kathleen graduated from UCLA and began teaching for LA city schools.        
   She and John O. Caligiuri married in 1952 and moved to Merced in 1963. Kathleen taught at Charles Wright School in Merced where she met her long time lunch bunch friends. Family gatherings and holidays were always fun times for Kathleen and she enjoyed traveling hiking, reading and being with friends.
    Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John O. Caligiuri and her parents, Earl and Jean McDonald. ....
