Man charged in Beach Park double homicide refuses to attend arraignment Timothy D. Triplett Jr. Updated 2/8/2021 5:37 PM The Waukegan man charged with murder in the shooting deaths of a Beach Park couple refused to leave his jail cell Monday to appear before a Lake County judge. Timothy D. Triplett Jr., of the 2100 block of Georgetown Lane, was scheduled for an arraignment hearing where he would hear the charges and enter a plea.   A Lake County grand jury indicted the 34-year-old in the deaths of Carlos Rodas Perez, 52, and Mercedes Rodas, 49. They were found shot in their garage in December. Lake County state s attorney s spokesman Jim Newton said Monday that Triplett was supposed to be taken from his cell to a booth in the jail where he could participate in the virtual hearing. But a court clerk informed the judge that Triplett had refused to leave his cell.

Fultondale Mayor Larry Holcomb said the storm - which hit the northern Jefferson County city about 10:30 p.m. - cut a quarter mile wide swath after touching down near Interstate 65. It moved northeast toward Fultondale High School where there is substantial damage. Multiple businesses - such as Hurst Towing and the Hampton Inn were destroyed, as well as most everything in between.
