Holden excited to take over at Wayne Trace Wednesday, March 17, 2021 12:09 PM By KEVIN WANNEMACHER DHI Media Sports Writer HAVILAND – Wayne Trace’s football program will be under the direction of a new face in 2021 but not one that is unfamiliar with the area as former Crestview defensive coordinator Matt Holden takes over the reins of the Raider program for the coming season. Holden, who was the defensive coordinator the last four seasons for the Knights under then head coach Jared Owens, says the similarities of the two schools was a big factor in making the move to Paulding County. “The two school districts are very, very similar in a lot of ways,” noted Holden. “They both have hard working kids that have enjoyed a lot of success in athletics and the communities that make up the school districts are very similar as well.
