5/19/2021 Armory project moves forward amid tight construction market A developer is working to turn the former Woonsocket Armory at 316 South Main St. into an arts center. (Breeze photo by Lauren Clem) WOONSOCKET – A New Hampshire-based developer is moving forward with his plans to turn the former Woonsocket Armory into an arts center, though city officials are split on how many incentives to offer the project. Brian Thibeault, who also owns the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center and The Times building in Pawtucket, told The Breeze he has closed on the purchase of the South Main Street property from Saint James Baptist Church. Over the past year, he said, he’s done minor work to protect the building from further water damage. ....
3/3/2021 CYO Center building will become apartments John Messier and Leszek “Les” Przybylko plan to turn the former CYO Center building into apartments. (Breeze photo by Lauren Clem) WOONSOCKET – A pair of developers who’ve already taken on two projects in the Main Street area have purchased the former Father Marot CYO Center on Federal Street and have plans to turn it into apartments. John Messier and Leszek “Les” Przybylko have purchased the property for $350,000, according to CYO Center Director Leo Fontaine. The sale includes two adjacent buildings at 77 Federal St. and 122 Clinton St. and the parking lot next door. Messier confirmed the sale to The Valley Breeze on Monday and said the two partners plan to develop the buildings into apartments. ....
2/24/2021 Woonsocket’s latest housing development nears completion Homes in Sunset View Estates, a nine-house development off Diamond Hill Road, have sold for between $319,900 and $389,900. (Breeze photo by Lauren Clem) WOONSOCKET – The city’s latest housing development is nearly complete, with only two homes left to finish up on Liane Drive in East Woonsocket. Sunset View Estates, an extension of Sunset Avenue off Diamond Hill Road, includes nine single-family homes arranged around a cul-de-sac. According to Duane Boucher, principal broker of RE/MAX Premier Properties, seven of the homes are already occupied, with another two under contract and expected to close by the end of March. ....
