JAZZ.FM91 named a finalist for two NYF Radio Awards By JAZZ.FM91 JAZZ.FM91 is proud to be named as a finalist in two categories for the 2021 New York Festivals Radio Awards. JAZZ.FM91 has been nominated in the subcategory of “social justice promotion” for our series of Black History Month vignettes, and also in the subcategory of “best two-way telephone talk/interview show” for the weekly series The View From L.A. with Jeff Babko . In February of 2020, JAZZ.FM91 marked Black History Month with an 11-part series of audio vignettes by John Devenish. Green helped build CJRT-FM into JAZZ.FM91 in the early 2000s, hosting the station’s afternoon program for several years. Green’s enthusiasm for supporting young musicians led to the creation of Jazzology in 2006. He took his role as host and mentor seriously, and was deeply proud of the development and evolution of the program.
