In Clayton, North Carolina, a former Clayton police officer was arrested January 19 for making and selling a muscle growth-promoting steroid. Owen Phillips, 40, went down after local police and prosecutors asked the State Bureau of Investigation to look into allegations he neglected his official duties and was dealing steroids. He is charged intent to manufacture, sell and deliver testosterone; sale and delivery of testosterone; and manufacture of testosterone. He had been named the Clayton Police Department s Officer of the Year in 2015 and the Town of Clayton s Employee of the Year in 2017. (AP) - A master sergeant at the Louisiana State Penitentiary was arrested after a shift change check found marijuana hidden in a disinfectant wipe container, the Department of Public Safety and Corrections said in a news release Wednesday. West Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested 52-year-old Janice Coney of Zachary on Sunday on charges of bringing contraband into a prison and possessing an illegal drug, the statement said. She had worked at the state’s maximum-security prison since mid-August 2005. ....

They immediately detained 52-year-old Janice Coney of 2644 Old Towne Road, Zachary, Louisiana. During the shakedown, DOC correctional officers found four oblong objects hidden inside a disinfectant wipe container belonging to Coney. Upon inspecting the substance, it was determined to be 314 grams of marijuana. Corrections investigators notified the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff s Office, and deputies booked Coney into the West Feliciana Parish Jail on the following charges; Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution, and Possession of Schedule 1 Narcotics. ....
