In Clayton, North Carolina, a former Clayton police officer was arrested January 19 for making and selling a muscle growth-promoting steroid. Owen Phillips, 40, went down after local police and prosecutors asked the State Bureau of Investigation to look into allegations he neglected his official duties and was dealing steroids. He is charged intent to manufacture, sell and deliver testosterone; sale and delivery of testosterone; and manufacture of testosterone. He had been named the Clayton Police Department s Officer of the Year in 2015 and the Town of Clayton s Employee of the Year in 2017. He resigned from the department in August, days before the investigation against him was opened.
Angola Inmate Dies After Fight in Prison Cell
According to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, while correctional officers were making routine rounds they discovered the fight, and the injured inmate was taken to the hospital.
The injured inmate would pass away in the hospital and the other inmate involved in the fight is in investigative segregation at this time, according to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
The fight occurred on Saturday night (1/16) around 11:45 pm.
The Louisiana Department of Corrections and West Feliciana Parish Sheriff s Office are currently investigating the case. Criminal charges are possible.

According to the report, Fate Winslow was charged with life in prison under the repeat-offender law that exists in Louisiana. The Innocence Project New Orleans took up Winslow s case and began the appeal process.
Thanks to the efforts of the Innocence Project New Orleans, Winslow is now a free man who was expecting to die in prison after selling $20 worth of marijuana to undercover agents when he was homeless.
