JAMMU: The J&K administration on Sunday notified Red, Yellow and Green zones keeping in view the rising Covid-19 cases.
As per government Order no. 26-JK (DMRRR) of 2021, Srinagar district and Lakhanpur Containment zone on the NH-44 with a buffer of 500 meters radius is in red zone. All districts of Kashmir Province except Srinagar and all districts of Jammu Province are in the green zone, while as no area finds itself in the green zone.
Further the order reads that “This categorization of districts into Red, Orange and Green Zones/ Districts will be followed for the purposes of implementation of permitted activities in the respective districts, as per a separate order, to be issued by the State Executive Committee (SEC). All the officers at the meeting were given instructions to ensure un-interrupted power supply to the public of Jammu province during such period, in general and the concerned staff was also directed to ensure smooth supply of power to all the major religious places in Jammu Province and to ‘Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine’, during the forthcoming Navratri Festival. Further MD, JPDCL instructed them to maintain un-hindered power supply to the people of Jammu Province during the Holy Month of Ramadhan, especially at ‘Sehri’ and ‘Iftar’ timings. In case of any unprecedented power breakdowns, the officers were instructed to restore power supply within the shortest time possible. ....

JAMMU, Mar 8: Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu today flagged off five days women hiking and trekking expedition, here today.
While flagging off the expedition, Prof. Dhar advised the participants to enjoy the expedition while respecting the nature and observing the COVID-19 SOPs.
He appreciated the role of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu especially Dr Daud Iqbal Baba for encouraging women’s participation in adventurous activities.
It is pertinent to mention here that this expedition is being organised on the occasion of the International Women’s Day for 50 students of the various colleges of the Jammu Province affiliated with the University of Jammu as well as the students of Jammu University in collaboration with the Pir Panchal Adventures. ....

JAMMU: Drugs Control Organisation has suspended operations of 36 Retail Sale Establishments across Jammu Province for violation of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940.
As per DCO, surprise inspections of Retail Sale Outlets particularly, situated in far flung/remote areas were carried out by the concerned Drugs Control Officers under the supervision of respective Assistant Drugs Controller in Jammu Province under the overall the authority of State Drugs Controller, Lotika Khajuria to ensure availability of quality drugs to the end users.
The operation of 6 units were disallowed in Jammu, 6 in Samba, 2 in Kathua, 6 in Kishtwar, 4 in Udhampur and 12 in Ramban district. ....
