The Progress-Index PETERSBURG A Dinwiddie resident and co-owner of an auto repair business is making her first foray into politics with a run for the 63rd House of Delegates District seat that has been in Democratic hands for the past four decades. Kim Taylor, who owns Titan Auto & Tire with her husband, Butch, said Tuesday she has filed papers to run as a Republican for the seat now held by Democrat Lashrecse D. Aird. Her candidacy marks the first time in recent history that the GOP will mount opposition for the 63rd, where two years ago, a conservative independent ran strongly and won most of the district s rural areas but lost the election due to an insurmountable margin in solidly Democratic Petersburg, the district s political epicenter. ....
