Rutgers’ John Poznanski falls to Penn State’s Aaron Brooks in Big Ten semifinals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. John Poznanski can still make Rutgers history. He will just need to do it on the other side of the bracket.
Penn State’s Aaron Brooks was just too much. The reigning conference champion rode four takedowns to a 10-2 major decision over Poznanski in the 184-pound semifinal round of the Big Ten Championships on Saturday night.
Poznanski now falls into Sunday’s consolation semifinals at the Bryce Jordan Center; he can finish as high as third place but no lower than sixth. Poznanski was trying to become Rutgers’ first freshman Big Ten finalist. Now the goal is to secure the best finish by a rookie at the conference tournament in program history. ....

Penn State came off their pause by losing a couple big matches to Indiana wrestlers (need I say more?), and Michigan looked pretty slow this weekend against a good and a very good team. So why should Iowa be the exception? Well, first, they’re older. They’ve been here before, and they know exactly how to prepare. Seriously, this team is starting six seniors and two juniors.
