Australians are now turning to plant delivery services so they can transform their indoor space into a jungle escape during lockdown.
With most non-essential stores temporarily shut due to strict Covid-19 restrictions, many plant shops and nurseries are delivering potted and hanging plants in all shapes, sizes and colours, to your door, with some offering same-day drop off.
Shoppers can find plants ranging from the classic fiddle-leaf fig and monstera to the rarer species like the Alocasia green velvet or a variegated umbrella tree.
The service is perfect for anyone looking to send birthday gifts to friends or family who are celebrating alone in lockdown, or treat themselves to a new leafy friend.

It was hard to ignore the enthusiasm surrounding the presidential election on campus last semester. Students hung signs on dorm doors advertising phone banking, held debate-watching sessions, and in the aftermath of the campus strike, had conversations about how to advance the nation in addition to the school community. Some even changed their registrations from their home states to Pennsylvania, knowing that it was a key swing state that could determine the election.
âStudent organizers did a great job of registering students to vote and making sure they knew all of the various
ways they could vote,â said Zach Oberfield, a professor in the political science department. âThere was a lot of confusion about mail-in ballots, the trustworthiness of the USPS, etc. and I think student groups really helped to ease concerns and provide accurate, timely information.â
