Kopparberg unveils Passionfruit & Orange Cider 
Drinksmaker Kopparberg has followed up on the successful launch of its Passionfruit & Orange gin variant in 2020 by creating a 4% Passionfruit & Orange Cider.
Kopparberg’s latest pour also comes after the drinks maker released Cherry and Dark Fruit rums and hard seltzer variants last year.
“Kopparberg prides itself on its ability to deliver the bold and original flavours you’d expect from the brand, whilst reacting to ever-developing trends in the drinks industry,” Rob Salvesen, head of marketing at Kopparberg said.  ....

Buzzing brews: Japan’s VinVie sees large untapped potential in local cider market due to demand for lower-alcohol options

Homegrown Japanese alcohol firm Vinvie believes that there is major untapped potential to be found in the ‘niche’ local cider market as consumers are increasingly on the lookout for lighter, lower-alcohol options.
VinVie operates its own orchards and vineyards in Japan’s Nagano prefecture, about 3.5 hours away from Tokyo by car, growing a large variety of Japanese table apples, cider apples, pears and grapes to make its wines and ciders.
According to the firm’s Director of Wine and Cider Making and Grape Cultivation Tsuyoshi Takemura, there are few companies in Japan that make cider as the industry is currently very niche. ....

Carlsberg launches low-carbon beer bottle
Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company says it has reduced the carbon impact of glass bottles by 90% in a new bottle revealed today.
The company has partnered with glass bottle supplier Encirc to put 1 million bottles in circulation in the UK with Carlsberg Danish Pilsner.
The reduced carbon footprint of the bottles has been achieved thanks to switching the glass furnace to biogas, a renewable fuel made from waste organic materials. Recycled content in the glass was able to be increased up to 100%.
CMBC says the bottle shows the potential to transform the bottle from the highest-carbon-impact packaging type to the lowest. Glass bottles currently account for around 10% of the total emissions across the value chain for the company. ....

Monin rooibos tea concentrate
Coffee and cocktail syrup brand Monin is helping bartenders expand their drinks repertoire with the released of a rooibos tea concentrate. Designed for both hot and cold beverages, the low sugar concentrate is described as being ‘delicate and woody with a slight sweetness’ and can be served as an iced tea or tea latte and also pairs well with flavours such as vanilla, blackberry, blood orange and rhubarb as an addition to summer and winter cocktails, says Monin. It comes in 70cl bottles with a price tag of £7.49 ....
