Violation of Constitution Does Not Serve Pakistan: PCMR - LAHORE, Pakistan: The People’s Commission on Minority Rights (PCMR), a Civil Society Organ, has expressed its dismay over the news circulating in media, purporting that the Chairman of the National Commission on Minorities (NCM) Mr. Chela Ram has supported the violation of the fundamental right of religious minorities guaranteed under the Article 22 of Constitution of Pakistan. In a joint statement on behalf of the PCMR, Justice (retd) Kailashnath Kohli, Advocate Kalpana Devi, M Parkash Mehtani, Dr. A H Nayyar, and Peter Jacob said that Mr. Ram apparently was uninformed of the opinion of educationists, the recent directions of the Supreme Court as well as Pakistan constitution on the subject. ....
Hindu Council slams smear campaign against Dr Ramesh National February 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) has reacted to ongoing character assassination campaign against its Patron-in-chief Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani and hinted to take legal action against people portraying themselves as minority representatives at the behest of the Evacuee Trust Properties Board (ETPB). In a statement issued on Friday, the council said the patriotic Hindu community across the country values the selfless contributions of Dr Vankwani to ensure the protection of holy places. The problems of the non-Muslim minority community in Pakistan are directly related to the incompetence of the ETPB, the statement said. ....
ETPB hosted important function and handed over Mandir National January 30, 2021 LAHORE: An Evacuee Trust Property Board team visited Hindu and Sikh communities in Sindh. They met the community management to address issues related to shrines. The ETPB also hosted an important function in Hyderabad on January 29, where Chela Ram, Chairman National Commission for Minorities, was the chief guest. Keys of extra rooms for 128-year-old Shiv Mandir were handed over to the management committee for its expansion. Chela Ram and other speakers appreciated the new management of ETPB, especially Federal Minister Dr Noorul Haq Qadri and Chairman Dr Aamer Ahmed. The ETPB team also visited Mandirs in Hyderabad, Dadu to resolve their problems and attended a Sikh function in Dherki, district Gotki. ....
